Herman Steyn, Co-Founder and Director of the Scheryn Art Collection will take part in Art Basel Cities Talks Program in Buenos Aires during the weekend of 12 – 14 April 2019. Herman will join prominent thinkers, curators, and makers unite to unpack the new questions facing the artworld during the city’s Semana del Arte
During the Semana del Arte organized by the city, Art Basel Cities is collaborating with arteBA Fundación to produce a lively series of dialogs that will host more than 40 speakers from across the cultural spectrum to discuss topics for, and with, the Buenos Aires audience. Using two contrasting formats, Masterclasses and Parallel Rooms, these talks aim to facilitate exchanges between members of the global art community and the local population.
The topic of the talk that Herman is part of centers around “The Public Task of the Collector”. Other participants in this talk are Axel Haubrok (Haubrok Foundation, Berlin) and Mauro Herlitzka (Henrique Faria Gallery, Buenos Aires).
