The Scheryn Art Collection is proud to haveĀ kx (ii), 2019 by Bronwyn Katz exhibited in Source Materials at the Griffith University Art Museum. The exhibition is curated by Naomi Evans and Carol McGregor and runs from 2 December 2021 ā 12 February 2022.
Source Materials brings together six artists who share philosophical approaches to time and transcultural practice. Working from distinct cultural and political contexts, multidisciplinary artists Ćmra Caoimhe (UK/Australia), Nicole Foreshew (Wiradjuri Nation, Australia), ektor garcia (Mexico/USA), Dale Harding (Bidjara, Ghungalu, Garingbal, Australia), Bronwyn Katz (South Africa) and Shireen Taweel (Australia) draw from traditional practices as well as post-minimal and conceptual art theories to present new ways of reading and thinking about art that identify breaches rather than continuums of culture.
Scheryn is grateful to the Griffith University Art Museum for the opportunity to continue to share the collection. We openly welcome any loan requests for artworks in the collection. It is our aim that the collection becomes available to the public in a way that allows educational opportunities and engages new audiences.
